Infield Baseball Gloves
When searching for an infield baseball glove there are a few guidelines that you should follow. Gloves that will be used for middle infield (short stop and second base) need to have exceptional playability. This means that the pocket shouldn’t be too deep which adds to quickness when turning double plays.
Gloves that will be used at third base can be a bit larger and have a deeper pocket than those used in the middle infield. This is because there isn’t as much quickness required at the “hot corner” and you can afford a little more room for error.
Here are some basic rules to follow when choosing the size of your glove (In inches):
- Short Stop: 11 1/2 up to 11 3/4 (Wouldn’t recommend anything larger than 11 1/2)
- Second Base: 11 up to 11 1/2
- Third Base: 11 1/2 up to 12
